Back Sleeve of Single: Jeux Interdits - Romeo et Juliet

    SLEEVE NOTES:

    Jeux Interdits:
This song, originally an ancient Spanish folk song, became familiar to people around the world under this title after it was used as the theme music for the 1952 French film "Jeux Interdits (Forbidden Games)." Before that, however, it was also used in the movie "Fort Graveyard" and given the title "Romance." In France, a record of the song, with French lyrics written by Serge Lama, a male singer who is said to be the leader of tomorrow's chanson world, and sung by Nana Mouskouri, became a million-seller.

    Romeo et Juliet:
This is the theme song for the 1968 Italian film "Romeo and Juliet," an interpretation of one of Shakespeare's four great tragedies by stage director Franco Zeffirelli with a bold modern sensibility. The music was composed by Nino Rota of "The Godfather" fame, and the beautiful melody, along with the vivid images on the screen, was deeply engraved in the hearts of young people around the world.
