Back of Single: Let There Be Light - La Baie des Lumieres

    SLEEVE NOTES:

This is perhaps one of the most unique and, for us, most delightful of the Paul Mauriat Grand Orchestra's many recordings. Recorded in Paris in June of 1976, this is a landmark recording, the realization of a three-year dream of Paul Mauriat who, after many successful performances on his frequent visits to Japan, has decided to thank the country for its warm welcome. Paul Mauriat himself composed, arranged, and conducted the music.

    Let There Be Light:
The lively and passionate Hakata girls may have been a new discovery of Japan for Paul Mauriat. He wrote this song to capture the image of Hakata's lively nightlife and the fashionable Hakata Mademoiselles with the disco sound that is currently in vogue.

    La Baie des Lumieres:
Paul Mauriat got the idea for this piece from his hotel room in Kobe, looking out over the foggy harbor. Born in the port city of Marseille, he loves port towns. He was born in Marseille, a port city, and he loves port towns, so this kind of description may be his specialty. Perhaps, the image of the beautiful night view of Rio de Janeiro was dubbed as his inspiration for this piece. The fantastic bossa nova rhythm and the saxophone creates the atmosphere of a quixotic port town. The French title of the song is "The Bay of Lights."
