    SLEEVE NOTES:

The Paul Mauriat Grand Orchestra, known for its many hits, has created a dream coupling of two of its most popular songs. The two songs on this record are "El Bimbo" and "The Queen of Sheba". Paul Mauriat was born on March 4, 1925 in the French port city of Marseille. His father was also a musician, and he began piano lessons with his father when he was 4 years old, and when he was 10 years old, he entered the Conservatoire de Marseille and graduated at the age of 13, showing great ability. Of course, like many musicians at the time, he dreamed of becoming a famous classical musician. But his heart turned to jazz, which he was playing part-time at the time. Paul Mauriat, captivated by jazz, created his own orchestra and traveled throughout France, starting in Marseille, where he honed his skills. Charles Aznavour, who took notice of his talent, asked him to accompany him, and his releases such as "Isabelle" and "La Bohème" were big hits. Paul Mauriat continued to demonstrate his talent to the fullest and more and more, with the big hit "Love is Blue" in 1968.

    El Bimbo:
Paul Mauriat's hits are countless, including "Love is Blue," "Penelope," "Toccata," and many others, but "El Bimbo" is another big hit that is absolutely indispensable when talking about Paul Mauriat. Originally by the up-and-coming French group "Bimbo Jet," the song became popular among young Europeans during their vacation in 1974. However, since Paul Mauriat's record exploded, many artists have taken up the song, and today it is known as one of Paul Mauriat's biggest hits.

    Love is Blue '83:
This song, based on the name of a queen in the Old Testament, was a hit song by French male vocalist Michel Rolland in 1967. In Japan, Paul Mauriat's performance of the song is highly acclaimed and has been well received by people. In addition to "Queen of Sheba," France in 1967 also produced a series of hit songs that later became standards, including "Love is Blue" (sung by Vicky) and "Aranjuez" (sung by Richard Anthony), and all three songs were notable hits in Paul Mauriat's repertoire. It is interesting to note that all three songs are notable hits in Paul Mauriat's repertoire.
