Back of Single: Toccata - Pearl Fisher

    SLEEVE NOTES:

The Paul Mauriat Grand Orchestra is well-known for its record-breaking hits such as "Queen of Sheba," "Nocturne," "Penelope," "Chanson pour Anna," etc., since "Love is Blue," thanks to conductor Paul Mauriat's always fresh arrangements and the unique and beautiful ensemble that this orchestra produces. The new piece introduced here, "Toccata," is no exception to this rule and is sure to be welcomed by Japanese popular music fans as a new hit.

    Toccata:
Written by Gaston Rolland, this piece is completely new popular music, but as the title suggests, it has a classical hue. In addition, the arrangement, with its clever use of harpsichord, violin, drums, piano, cello, and harp, gives the piece a lively and dynamic feel.

    Pearl Fisher:
Unlike "Toccata," which is a popular piece in a classical style, "The Pearl Fisher" is an arrangement of an aria from Bizet's opera "The Pearl Fisher," famous for "Carmen," in a popular style. This melody is also well known as "The Pearlfisher's Tango" by tango orchestras such as Malando and Hause, but here you will hear a new arrangement by Paul Mauriat.
