When it comes to friendship team spirit and belief in our "sound" idea - "I've got the best band in the world" was James Last's proud comment on his family of musicians. He has succeeded in creating within the band the very same atmosphere which exists between himself, his wife Waltrand and his children Roland and Caterina. One reason is that he was an orchestra musician himself for a long time, and therefore knows the ups and downs of a musician's life. Another is that despite his worldwide success, he hasn't changed. He's still the quite sensitive man with the intuitive feelings for human beings and human problems. He never tries to be "boss" and work is always discussed as a team. Mutual off-duty experiences also keep the band united such as the parties for the "Beach Party" LP. The main thing, says James Last, is to join in and he invites you, his audience, to join in...
