Billy Vaughn Live in Japan 1981 Back

Billy Vaughn

The Billy Vaughn Sound is "American" in Music

The Billy Vaughn Orchestra has been in existence for 29 years, and is the undisputed "King of Mood Orchestras". Billy Vaughn was born in 1919 in Kentucky, U.S.A., and was a gifted musician from an early age.

After World War II, he was a pianist in a local band in his hometown and formed a chorus group at a college. In 1952, he signed a contract with Dot Records as a composer, arranger, and conductor, and became well-known after 1957 with the big hits "Sail Along Silvery Moon," "Wheels," and "Pearly Shells." These and many other Billy Vaughn songs we usually listen to without realizing it. There are many orchestral masterpieces, but they all come back to this place, which is a great standard.

The Billy Vaughn Orchestra, which will be visiting Japan this year, is a true reflection of Billy Vaughn's attitude of always leading his orchestra in a positive manner. The orchestra will feature young players along with veterans, and for the first time, a female chorus will be added to the lineup. His lighthearted and moody performance is exactly what Brandy calls "American.

In the first part of the concert, Billy Vaughn will perform a danceable swinging jazz popular number titled "Swingin' Billy Vaughn," which will be a great pleasure to see how Billy Vaughn plays. In the second part, let the audience enjoy to their heart's content the sweet melody line with saxophone unison. The title is "Greatest Popular Hits."

His big hits such as "Sail Along Silvery Moon," "Wheels," "Pearly Shells" and many others will lift your heart just by thinking about them. Billy Vaughn is the perfect description of a shy and timid American father with a warm heart.

So tonight, let's enjoy Billy Vaughn's "American Love" together!
